MAFIA - EVERY THURSDAY AT WILD ASIA

Karim

MAFIA is hosted every Thursday at Wild Asia by one of Kazakhstan’s favorite entertainers, Karim Muturganov, the star of the 1980’s film comedy Acknowledge  Adam ! who trained at the Moscow State Circus School and is now art director and producer of "Muturganchiki".

The game became popular in the 1990s and is now played throughout Europe and the United States – it has even become a Latvian television series. Cited by about.com as one of "the 50 most historically and culturally significant games published since 1800" it was first created by Dimma Davidoff in 1986 at the Moscow State University.

In the game, players are secretly assigned roles - by luck of the draw - either "mafia" - who know each other - or "townspeople" - including a “doctor” and a “detective” - and sometimes even a “serial killer” (the “manic”) - who only know the number of mafia amongst them.

The game continues until the mafia have been eliminated, or the mafia outnumber the townspeople.

Apart from the fun – and some magic - there is another very good reason to play – to win – because after the warm up game, players contribute KZT 1000 into a pot which is shared by the survivors....
